Westcott Memorial Travel Award 2026

11/10/2025

Dear Members of the Inorganic Community,

The Westcott Memorial Travel Award was established by the CSC Inorganic Division in 2023 to acknowledge the many contributions of the late Dr. Steve Westcott to the Canadian Inorganic Chemistry community.  During his 27 years as a Professor of Chemistry at Mount Allison University, Steve mentored hundreds of undergraduate students, published extensively with his research group the “Wild Toads”, and was a very active member of the chemical community.  Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, we are able to honour Steve’s dedication to undergraduate research by providing financial support for an undergraduate student to attend the annual CSC national conference.

Award information and the Nomination Form can be found below. The deadline for nominations is February 23, 2026.

2026 Awards for Graduate (Doctoral/Masters) Work in Inorganic Chemistry (AGWIC-D / AGWIC-M) and for Undergraduate Research in Inorganic Chemistry (AURIC)

9/24/2025

This is a call for nominations for the 2026 Awards for Graduate (Doctoral/Masters) Work in Inorganic Chemistry (AGWIC-D / AGWIC-M) and the 2026 Award for Undergraduate Research in Inorganic Chemistry (AURIC).

These awards recognize excellence in inorganic chemistry research at the graduate and undergraduate levels. In all cases, the awards are meant to recognize an outstanding STUDENT rather than an outstanding project, so emphasis should be placed on the student's research skills, dedication, initiative, etc.

The deadline for submission of nominations is Friday November 21st.
Nominations should be sent by e-mail to Dave Herbert ([email protected]), Vice-Chair, CSC Inorganic Division.
Please see the terms of reference (attached) below for each award which include a full explanation of the submission package.
Happy nominating!
